Mann's Chinese Theatre Los Angeles

Mann's Chinese Theatre, LA
Probably the most famous theatre in the world, Mann's Chinese Theatre should be on everyone's list of top places to visit in LA. Located right on Hollywood Blvd., it has long been considered a landmark and symbol of Hollywood royalty, and is Los Angeles' most popular tourist attraction.
Opened in 1927, this is the theater that invented the Gala Movie Premiere, where celebrities flock on the opening night of their big movies. The beautiful interior is filled with priceless Chinese artifacts, and the theater's jade green and bronzed roof is an astounding 90 feet tall.
The real attraction here however is the theatre's courtyard, which holds the footprints, handprints and other bodily impressions of Hollywood's stars of the past and present. This all started when Norma Talmadge, a star of the silent movie era, accidentally stepped into some wet cement here and left her mark.
This quickly became a tradition of the theater, and now Hollywood's prestigious stars have officially 'made it' when their prints are immortalized in a square of cement in the courtyard. Over 200 prints can now be seen here at the theatre, so be sure to stop by and see how you measure up to the likes of Steven Spielberg, Shawn Connery, Bette Davis and Shirley Temple.
The theatre still keeps with the movie premiere tradition as well, and many of the hottest movies make their debut here with the starring cast in attendance. Mann's Chinese Theatre has a state-of-the-art sound system and giant movie screen, and its beautiful decor and VIP area allows the famous guests to feel right at home.
